Dear Dance Friends,
Fall is here!
I hope your dance season has kicked off with a great start!
I have recently returned from Europe.
My first stop was Finland. I had the pleasure of choreographing
and teaching for Pori Dance Company in Pori, Finland under the
direction of Liisa Nojonen. These dancers are pretty phenomenal!
Their work ethics are something that every dance teacher and
choreographer lives for. They look, listen and live to dance.
It is evident what is being taught at the school of Liisa Nojonen.
This is my 26th year of working for Liisa. Together with our "mad
about jazz" feeling we have created and preserved classic jazz
dance for the concert stage.
This coming spring 2 new works of mine will premiere.
I am already looking forward to return to Finland again.

After my Finnish teaching and choreographing marathon I headed south to Tilburg, The Netherlands.
My former students from the Fontys Dansacademie periodically organize workshops (MES(s) to give
the dancers in the south of Holland the opportunity to train on a professional level.
I had so much fun teaching, sharing my passion for jazz dance and seeing the progress of past students
from The Netherlands and Germany. The respect for jazz dance and my work was ever so present.
A great feeling!

My newest passion when I am not dancing are my 4 legged friends at Petlover Central.
www.PetLoverCentral.com I am a volunteer for an organization called
Rescue Rehab Home www.rescuerehabhome.org
based at PetLover Central in Boca Raton, Florida. Their mission is to care for injured, neglected or
"discarded" dogs. "Saving one dog at a time" focusing on a handful of dogs in need and setting goals to
finding suitable forever homes. Every day I walk these sweet dogs. It is great to see them change.
I compare it to teaching; sharing, helping and educating to make a difference in one's life.
At this time I am booking for the 2010 season. I am available for master classes, workshops, choreography
and coaching.
I sincerely hope to include you in my program and share my excitement for jazz dance.
I wish you all a lovely October
and not to forget a spooky Halloween
Kind regards,
Pattie Obey
